1. Is the University recognized by UGC?
Ans. Yes, it is empowered by UGC  to award degrees as specified under the Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.

2. Is the Degree offered by the university recognized for employment in all the sectors?
Ans. Yes, the affiliated university is established through  Meghalaya State legislative Act, 2010 (Meghalaya Act No.6 of 2011), published in the Gazette of Meghalaya vide No.LL (B).138/2010/41. Hence our degree are at par for employment in any sector.

4. Is the degree valid abroad?
Ans. Yes, MGU degree is valid abroad.

5. Does University provides practical Industry training?
Ans. Yes, our faculty are experts from their respective field who give student sound advice on how to be prepared for future.

7. What if I wish to quit a Programme before its completion?
Ans. You could quit a Programme before its completion. The University has flexible (Entry - Exit) system which permits you to enroll for a Programme and quit after completing the first year.

For eg:  If you have enrolled for a 3 years Graduate Programme, you could quit after the 1st year. In this case, you will get a Diploma and you can always join back and complete the degree by taking a Lateral Entry into the same Programme. This flexibility is available for most of the Programmes, Graduate as well as Post Graduate.

8. Can I register for the next term without clearing/ appearing for any course of the previous term?
Ans. Yes, you can register for the next term without clearing/ appearing for any course of the previous term. You can re-appear for the backlog courses along with the next term examination within maximum duration of the programme.

1. What are the types of study material given/provided to the students?
Ans. The study material is available in the form of

  • SLM (Books in Printed format)
  • E-Books (for select courses)
  • CBT (for select courses)
  • LMS (for select courses)
2. When do the students receive the study material?
Ans. Study Material is provided to the students, subject to admission status/ fee payment of the respective Programme.

1. What are the components of Evaluation?
Ans. Evaluation is based on the following components:

  • Continuous Assessment
  • Exams
2. What do I need to do for Continuous Assessment?
Ans. You need to appear for online tests for Continuous Assessment.

3. What would I do if I get an F grade in a course?

Ans.  You can re-appear in Examination for that course by paying the required Re-appear Examination fee.

4. How many times can I re-appear for an Examination?
Ans.  You may re-appear for an examination as many times till the maximum duration of a Programme.

5. When are Examinations held?
Ans. The Examinations for Management and I.T. Programs are held Twice in a Year.
While for Professional, Traditional Examination would be held once in a year.
Skill development programs examination would be taken once in a year i.e after the completion of   
the program.

6. Where are the Examinations held?
Ans. The Examinations are held at the Examination Centre(s) created by the University for the same.

7. What are online tests and do I need to come to the University campus for appearing in Online tests?
Ans. Online tests are conducted by the University for the purpose of Continuous Assessment, for each course of the Curriculum. These tests are conducted online and you can appear for these tests from anywhere.

8. How will I get the schedule of tests?
Ans. Schedule of tests will be available on University’s website, notice boards as well as student’s login-id.

  1. When will I get my username and password for e-learning portal?
Ans. You will get your username and password once you are application is successfully submitted along with the fees.  

2. How can I access my e-learning portal?

Ans. Once you have the username and password, you can login to your e-learning portal with the same through our website and you will have access to all the information provided for the students.

3. Do I need to install any software on my computer to access the e-learning portal?
Ans. You need to have the following software installed on your machine

Internet Browser: Internet Explorer 8.0 or better
Plug-in: Shockwave and Flash Player
Readers: Acrobat Reader, Power point Reader

4. What information will I get through my Login-ID?
Ans. You may get all academic and administrative information through your Login-ID.

  1. What are different courses University Online offers?
Ans.  The University offers Degree, Diploma, Master degree, Post- Graduation Diploma in various fields.

2. Who can take admission in the program?
Ans. Anyone can take admission to the online programmes; Students, Professionals, Businessmen, Entrepreneurs, House-wives and any other individual who wishes to pursue Professional education while still continuing with what he/ she is doing.

3. Do I have to appear for an entrance test for admission to a Programme?
Ans. There is no entrance test for admission to any of the Programmes . However, you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the Programme you wish to take admission in.

4. How do I know that I am eligible for a Programme ?
Ans. Eligibility criteria is provided for all the Programmes. You need to study them carefully before filling up the Application form. Also, you can seek the help of our Counselors to verify if you are eligible for a Programme or not.

5. What if I send an incomplete Application Form?
Ans. Only duly filled-in and signed Application Form(s) along with the attachments, as prescribed, would be deemed to be Complete Application(s). Incomplete Application Form(s) will be rejected. Therefore, to avoid this, you are advised to read the Admission Procedure Guidelines carefully or seek the help of our counselors.

6. If I withdraw from a Programme, will my fee be refunded back to me?
Ans. No, there is no refund of fee in case of withdrawal from a Programme.

7. Can I register for two terms simultaneously?
Ans.  No, you can register for only one term at a time.
